Privacy policy

This website is operated by Vangera Systems. It is designed to collect as little personal data as possible.

What is collected

Contact form. When you send a message, your name, email address and message are emailed to Vangera Systems together with your IP address and browser type (used to prevent abuse). Messages are not stored in a database and are used only to reply to your enquiry.

Spam protection. The form uses ALTCHA, a privacy-friendly check that runs in your browser. It sets no cookies and sends nothing to third parties.

Server logs. The web server records technical access logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. They are rotated automatically.

Visit statistics

To see which pages are read and how people find this website, it can count visits with Google Analytics, but only if you allow it. A bar at the bottom of the page asks first. Until you choose Allow, nothing from Google Analytics loads and no cookies are set. Your choice is remembered in your browser (not in a cookie), and you can change it at any time with Visit statistics at the bottom of every page. Choosing No thanks later turns the statistics off and removes their cookies.

If you allow it:

  • Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search or a link), your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address), your device type, browser, screen size and language, and how long you stay.
  • It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years unless you remove them.
  • Google says Google Analytics 4 doesn’t store IP addresses. Google Signals and the advertising features are turned off, so this data isn’t used for ads.
  • Google processes the data on its servers, which may be outside Laos. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
  • We see only totals and trends in Google Analytics, not who you are.

Cookies and tracking

Apart from the visit statistics above, and only if you allow them, this website sets no cookies and uses no advertising or other third-party trackers.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@vangera.systems.
